I spent the early 90's studying West African and Afro-Cuban Rhythms, and listening to tons of World Music particularly West African Drumming and Eastern Indian Classical music. About 7 years ago a good friend brought me back to rock when he introduced me to Tool, who became my favorite band. For decades I wondered if any band could ever receive the torch from Led Zeppelin and do it justice. For me Tool is this band. Not that they are neccesarily like Zeppelin musically, but rather they have reached a similar level of musicanship and influence of the social musical consciousness.
Along this line of thinking.....
Shimshai can easily take the torch from Bob Marley and continue to carry it up the Mountain. I know that he will attract millions of followers along his mystic musical journey.
